This morning was my very first day back... I really missed my class.
The first thing I did was hang up my coat. Then we read. Then Mr. Keil showed us how to make our Persuasive pamphlet. Then we had reading buddies. Then we had recess. Recess was fun. It was almost as fun as swimming with dolphins.... no.
Then you showed us the stories online??? We had to write connections between the stories and our lives, some books we read and the world.
Then we ate lunch. I forget what I had for lunch... but it was delicious.
After lunch I forget.... we did Math using the smartboard. The math lesson was about money. We had to go up to the smartboard and we had to figure out how much money there was.
Then we did science. We build bridges using paper. Then we had recess. Then we tested the bridges. Some bridges were so strong they held 16 math textbooks !!!!
Today was excellent.
I missed the school. It is the greatest place in the world.

The students are to create a math question using money. They are to choose a number and come up with 3 or 4 different ways to make that number using different pieces of money.
Example:
$ 3. 21
1) Three loonies, two dimes and a penny
2) One twoonie, one loonie, one dime, two nickels and a penny....etc.
Also the students can read as well.

Hey everyone ... this is Kyla..
What did we do this morning... no we came in and we worked in our workbooks. Then we went to the computers and we worked on our worlds that we are creating. Then we went back to the classroom and we got ready to tell everyone about our hockey tournament.
Then we went outside for recess... I ran around and asked other kids if they wanted to join the hockey team. I got some players and cannot wait to play!!
After recess we came back in and then we ... I think it was a game I can't remember what it was... oh ya we played a game where you put your head down and Mr. Keil wrote like... three dimes, 17 nickels and stuff like that. We would lift our heads and have to look at the board and you would have to add it up and then tell Mr. Keil how much he had. It was fun... and he said we were going to play another game but he kept going on and on and on and on.
Then we had lunch. I ate ginger cookies.
Then we read and went to the assembly for Mrs. Sioumpus. The assesmbly was good. You don't even have to look you just type I don't get that.... look ...look .. turn you don;t even look at the computer.
Then we came back to the classroom and we started building our paper bridges for testing. It was fun... it was fun.
Then we had recess.
After recess most of the class went to Ms. Asselins portable for music and then gym. I am very naughty...
It was a good day.
I am going to miss school this weeekend... no I am not!

The kids need to read a bunch this weekend - we are not scoring too high in the Raptors competition so I am giving them the weekend off of homework and they can read.
If they want to do more then they can research the Urban and Rural communities they are comparing.

Oh no we got to do the blog !!!
This is Camdizzy .... or Cameron to those on the outside.
In the morning I got a book and started reading. And then we stopped and then we stopped and darn it I forgot something..... no .... supposed to go back space on that one.
Oh ya - we worked on our writing - we did our persuasive pamphlets. My new world is Fun land. We are describing these places and making pamphlets to make others want to come to these places. Then I did some other stuff for the ideas like imagination, ticket prices, and how much the stuff costs. Then we had recess.
After recess we did some work on text to text, text to world, and text to self by reading Scardey squirrel. I like that book.
Then we ate lunch - my lunch was hamburgers - they were delicious.... very delicious.
After lunch we went outside and started playing.... then the bell rang.
Then we got inside and started working. We went to the library to use the smartboard and worked with Ordinal numbers for our math class.
Then we had a quick science experiment.
Then we had recess, music and gym.
Then we went home. Today was good. I will miss my class when I am not at school tonight.

As some of you know the grade three class is running a hockey tournament for the community to play in.
Parents are encouraged to join a team. Here is the process for creating your hockey squad.
Each team from each division can have up to two parents and then must have a player from each grade in that division.
For example - the grade 1-3 division - there must be a player from grade 1, 2 and 3 on the team - then parents or more players from any grade.
Kindies count as grade 1's as well if they want to play.
Parents can make a squad of only parents to play in any division they choose if they want to.
There is a small admission fee of $10.00 for any parent squad.
The sign up sheet will be in the hallway at Chine tomorrow so swing on by with your hockey squad and sign up.
All equipment will be provided by the school.

Yo yo Yo Yo yo... this is Axel.
This morning when I arrived at school I felt like I was a ..... I was a...... he he he ... ha ha ha... .I was ... I was .... ummm very happy?
At the beginning of the day we did some reading. And.... some writing. We wrote to the Canadian soldiers and we started our good copies today.
And... we... tsh tsh tsh... did some math. And... ummmmm... then we ate lunch. But during math we worked with the hundreds, tens, and ones to answer questions.
Then we ate lunch - I had ummm sommmme crackers and cheese and some ham. It was delicious.
Then we had computer club - during computer club we worked with movie maker. I liked it a lot!
Then we did umm.... library exchange and we did some parent council stuff on our class getting a smartboard. We did a bunch of cool stuff using the smartboard. At the end of the day we did music and gym... no we didn't .... right now we are working on our Art project.... underwater scene... weeeeeeeeee.
La la la.

Hockey Tournament
The grade three class has decided that we are going to host the first annual parent/teacher/student hockey tournament.
The games will be played on December 9 - grades 1-3
December 10 - grades 4-6
and December 11 - grades 7 and 8.
The students will be running baking sales, popcorn sales and the actual hockey tournament in order to raise money for our smartboard.
Parents are encouraged to play - we will be charging a small entry fee but parents can create teams themselves and play against the students and teachers or they can play on teams created by the students.
More information will follow - but this gives you a small idea as to what is happening.

Hi everyone - it is I... Eric "The president of the United States" Tucker.
This morning we came to school with a giant smile on our face.
First we read a book and then we went to the smartboard. On the smartboard we did a presentation about advertisements and how to make them. Then we got our next assignment - it is for us to create a advertisement for a park or a land or something like that.
Then we had recess - at recess I played outside.
Then we read a book called Mattland and talked about making connections from text to text, text to world and text to self.
Then we ate lunch - at lunch I ate a sandwich and cookies and a yoghurt tube.
Then I had art club - I thought it was good.

Hi ! It is I... Hana Montanna....
This morning when we got to school I forget what happened..... he he he he.....
That is right - this morning we did some writing - some did letters to soldiers overseas and others wrote short stories and some did their math tests - It was a good morning.
Then we went for lunch.... oh no we went for recess ...
After recess we went to the library and we watched presentations. They were funny - some even had voices talking... only one... but it was funny and also we went for lunch.
After lunch we did our Eco foot prints. These footprints are all the things that we are trying to do to help the environment!
Mine is I am going to pick up garbage.
Now we are sketching underwater animals for our art project. I did three so far. I really like it.
Soon we are going to get ready for recess.
After recess we have music and gym - I will only be excited depending on what it is we are going to do...
It was a good day except I dropped my snack by accident. It was a Japanese treat - it had egg, honey, sugar and wheat. I ate it anyways - but only the side that was clean.
I am going to send Zac to the washroom but I am going to take away his recess. Turns out I am going to let him go. And Cole can go with him.... okay - back to the blog.
And I have another Japanese snack that is made out of rice!

Hi... this is Kim... the naughty?
This morning we got to school and I was soooooo happy that I was here!
We went to the library and we worked on our VCOP. We learned about capital letters and periods while reading stories about naughty teachers, bad classrooms, and super students.
Then we had recess - I played teather ball during recess... I did not win.
After recess we were VCOP detectives. Then we read a book using the smartboard. The story was about Lacewing - the bug detective.
Then we ate lunch - my lunch was yummy.
After lunch - we changed our library books. Then we worked on our Math... it was boring. We took up all the work to get us ready for the test tomorrow.
Then we had recess - I was sad to have to go outside. I tried to trick Mr. Keil into letting me stay in with the students that were not done their work.... it didn't work.
After recess we came back in here and we worked a little bit more on our math then we sketched and now I am going into the future.
You are not supposed to put that in..... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

This is Cole.
This morning we did DEAR but myself, Julian and Axel had to leave to do a presentation for Mrs. Fisher - it was fun.
We showed her on the smartboard that our class could really use a smartboard in our room because some of us don't like to sit down and write on a piece of paper. And we showed her some really cool things and the powerpoint presentation we made together.
After that I came back and we did some stories that we had to put in the punctuation and capitals. The stories were about a teacher that was very mean and then the next one was about a demon teacher and then there was two stories about the class being superheroes and Mr. Keil said that he didn't make it but I know that he did anyways.... and.... then.... we....... hey!
Hey - erase that..... shake......ummmmm then we went out for recess and we had a lot of fun.
When we came in from recess I made the math homework with Sebastien, Mila and Emma.
Then we ate lunch - I had a delicious meal !
After lunch we went to the computers and I worked on the math homework while the other kids worked on their advertisement projects using powerpoint. Then I got to use the Smartboard software and I thought it was pretty cool and Mr. Keil showed me how to make some special stuff that I can kinda make games with and
P.S. Mr. Keil is the nicest teacher in the world.
Then we talked about our Art project which Mr. Keil thinks everyone is going to do an awesome job at. The art project is about us sketching animals and then pasting them onto a underwater background making an underwater scene.

Now I am going to music and gym in a total of thirty seconds.

5. There is a smartboard letter being sent home. One letter is from Cole - the other is from me (Mr. Keil)
This letter talks about our class and their goal to raise money to purchase a smartboard for our room. We are looking at different ways to fund raise for the money. The first way is using Samko and Miko Toy Warehouse. From the dates November 25 - December 6 - if you buy something there and have them stamp the receipt providing the cashier with our name (Chine Drive Public School) they will donate 10% of all these sales to our school.
We are also looking at different options to raise the money for our class to buy a smartboard. Should be an interesting!

Ummm blah blah blah blah blah
This is Julian,
Today we did nothing....
oh no wait when we got to school we read and read and read. Then we went to the library and worked on our patterns for math. Then we started a new project building presentations for the commercials we looked at over the weekend.
Then we went for recess. During recess I played teatherball.... I won both games... I am really good - I challenge anyone out there to a teatherball match!
After recess - we came in and presented our Magnet maps - they were good - everyone did a great job.
Then we did work in our math textbooks... boring!
Then we went for lunch. I played capture the flag ...we didn't even get to finish !
After lunch we did some science. We built electroscopes and showed how a cork can become a magnet!
Then we went to recess... during recess I have no clue what I did.
After recess we went back to the lab and worked on our commercial ad and our patterns for math.
Overall today was excellent! Am I excited about school tomorrow.... yes.

This is Emmzy,
I am sad... because tomorrow I don't get to come to school....
(menacing face...)
Today we went to the library and did a smartboard presentation. My favourite part of the presentation was nothing....or...ummm I didn't even like the tomatoe in the face and vortex games...
Then we went back to the classroom and we wrote letters to directors and producers to ask them if we could make a book that we read into a movie or a T.V. show.
Then we had recess... at recess I played with my stuffed animal.
Then we did some math. Then we ate lunch - my favourite part of lunch was when we got to play outside. Then we had intermurals. During intermurals we played soccer with 4 balls. It was crazy !
Then we went to the library and we had another smartboard presentation. This one was watching commercials and we have to discuss who likes the commercials and who it is for.
It was not fun.

I am glad that mine is over - it went good. Then we had music and gym.
Overall this was a 10/15 day - it was a pretty good day.
I am not going to miss school tomorrow..... I am glad that I get to sleep in...

The kids are to complete a advertisement sheet where they watch a commercial or read an ad, or listen to a radio commercial and answer some questions about it - see comments for the questions if they have misplaced them.
Also - some have a math sheet to finish up - most got it done.
A reminder for the Marlies permission forms to be brought in as soon as possible.
And - no school tomorrow !!!

Today we went to the library and did a smartboard presentation. My favourite part of the presentation was nothing....or...ummm I didn't even like the tomatoe in the face and vortex games...
Then we went back to the classroom and we wrote letters to directors and producers to ask them if we could make a book that we read into a movie or a T.V. show.
Then we had recess... at recess I played with my stuffed animal.
Then we did some math. Then we ate lunch - my favourite part of lunch was when we got to play outside. Then we had intermurals. During intermurals we played soccer with 4 balls. It was crazy !
Then we went to the library and we had another smartboard presentation. This one was watching commercials and we have to discuss who likes the commercials and who it is for.
It was not fun.
Then we went to the classroom and we did our Magnet map presentations. They were good.

Hi... my name is Alexander... and we.... sigh.... um.... like ... I liked to play outside today...
Okay - now about the morning.
What we did this morning was we came in and Mr. Keil was very funny. We sketched some animals and dinasours and we also did math. We went to the Rememberance day assembly which was very interesting.
Then we ate lunch. We also had computer club. I went to the computer and was getting videos for the movie maker project. It was fun and I did videos of star wars.
After lunch we did some more Math - rounding numbers.
Then it was recess and now it is music and gym. I may get into trouble for not being at the gym.. I hope not.
My day was okay and also I was also excited because I made my project - my magnet map project.

Homework:
The homework for tonight is finishing up the Magnet maps and the Urban and rural drawings. I have most urban and rural drawings but there are a few of them out there.
Also some students did not finish their math: They were responsible for finishing
page # 33 - questions 3,4,5,and 6.
The students were also sent home a form about French and a Toronto Marlies information and permission form.
The Grade three student's and both Hockey teams have been invited to a Toronto Marlies game for a really reduced price. Take a look - any feedback is appreciated.

First we what did we do first.... First we wrote good copy letters to the soldiers who fought for our freedom. Then we read a book in the library on the smartboard. Then we got ready for recess. Then we finished work on our Magnet maps and Urban and rural drawings. Then we went to lunch... I think it was lunch... to lunch.
After lunch we went to the library - I had to write a test because I was sick last week but the rest of the students went to the library. Then I got to go to the library as well.
Then we came back to the class and had a math lesson. In math we worked on how to represent numbers. We walked around the room playing math musical chairs.
Then we went to recess. We came back in and worked on our magnet maps and urban and rural drawings again.
It was a good day. My favourite part was when we listened to the story on the smartboard.

Hey This is Evan,
This morning we read a bit then we did ... what did we do again???? ummm I think we did some ... did we do Math Mr. Keil... heeeyyyyy.
This morning we wrote a letter to the Canadian soldiers for fighting for us. Then we had recess. Then I handed in the new Math thing.
Then we went to the library and used the smartboard to talk about representing numbers in different ways.
Then we ate lunch - I had a honey sandwich, an apple, and much more. It was delicious.
I helped the lunch lady - I told her where everything was and then we went outside and played.
Then when lunch was done we wrote a bit about peace and made some poppies.. then we made a poppy and when we were done we had to tidy up.
Next we have music and gym. NO actually first we have recess then we have music and gym.

This is Maddy bo baddy.
Today we were making a letter on how to save whales. We need to save whales because we have been losing many of them to extinction.
Then we worked on our magnet maps and they are pretty good.
Then we ate lunch - I had a delicious sandwich and some YOP.
After lunch we talked about war and peace and why we celebrate rememberance day.
Then we had recess. Cole got something in his eye...
Then we had music and gym.

Hi! it is Ola Bola!
Today we came to school with smiles on our faces! We knew it was going to be fun! (which is not true because school cannot be FUN!). Then we took off our jackets and we did our retell tests. I think I did very well because I worked hard for the last couple of weeks learning how to retell stories.
Then we went out for recess. I had fun at recess. Then we worked on our magnet maps. Some of the magnet maps that are in the school now are very pretty.
Then we ate lunch. We had pizza lunch. It was yummmmy !
Then we did our math test. I think I did awesome !
Then we had recess. After recess we have music and gym and it is fun.
Today was a very very very very very very very very very very very busy day.

This is Jonezy,
Today we came to school with smiles on our faces. Then we read a story about Whales. We got into groups and we read the story together and there was 4 different groups.
Then we broke off into groups and went to the library to take up the math.
Then we ate lunch - my lunch was really good! I loved it. I wish that Emma would let me finish this blog... she keeps reading it as I write it.
After lunch we went back to the library to pick out our books for the Raptor competition.
Then we came back to the classroom and we did our urban and rural drawings.
After recess... after recess... we did our project from the book that we read. It was the map magnet project.
It was a beautiful day!

Hi my name is Garrett. Today we read in the morning and then what did we do after that? And then we went to the library and finished work on our retells. Then we had recess. During recess I ran around like a chicken.
Then we did some math. In math we made patterns with candy from Alexander and his family. It was really good - I ate popcorn, three gummies, three candy bones with red blood on it and some cheezies.
Then we practiced for our math test - which is Wednesday!
Then we ate lunch.
After lunch we came back to the class and then went to the library. At the library we finished our homework that we did last week? We are doing a project - and we have one week to do it...are we? Mr. Keil... sorry Mila interupted me. Where was I... oh ya - the library - we finished up our Transportation tally on the computer using bar charts on Microsoft Excel. Then we printed it out and talked about it in class. We found out that most people use cars and motorcycles to get around. Mr. Keil can I get a drink? Sorry - that was Kyla.
Lastly we.. Mr. Keil I need a new pencil so should I get one or something... can I Mr. Keil... that was Alex.
Lastly we - worked on our sketches of urban and rural houses.
Then we are going to music and gym.
It was a medium day.
