The kids also start a new reading competition !!
The Raptors are having a Read to achieve competition that we have entered. We are hoping that we do well because the prizes are amazing!

Thursday October 29, 2009

Today we got to school and did some reading. Then we finished our retells from yesterday. Then we went to the library and Mr. Keil told us a scary story and we used Kidspiration to tell about it on the computers. Then we went out for recess. After recess we went to read with our kindergarten reading buddies. Then we ate lunch.
After lunch we finished up some math work in preparation for our test early next week. Then we wrote some scary stories to tell the class tomorrow during our party.
We finished off the day with music and gym.
It was a good day.

page 19 - questions - 6,7, and 8.
We need to have this done so we can study for our test next week !
READING - keep reading.
New competition starts next week.
Also - The students will be wearing their costumes tomorrow in the MORNING. They cannot bring weapons to school with their costumes.
In the afternoon we will be having a Class party - so the student's can bring in some items along with the winnings from the Reading competition.
Happy Halloween!

Wednesday October 28, 2009

This is Mila.
I am sad because I just missed recess but.... today we became University students. We did our retell when Professor Keil gave us a lecture and we had to take notes and retell the story.
In math we were bad. We worked on reviewing patterns in the textbook. We were talking a lot and then we got to go for lunch.
After lunch we made our paper mache balloon pumpkins. It was a fun experience because we got to use paper mache and we got to paint them.
Come in and take a look if you get a chance.
Then we figured out that we WON THE READING COMPETITION!!!!
Then we went to music and gym.
It was a good day. I had a lot of fun.

Homework for tonight is:
Social Studies - the students are to write down four different types of transportation and ask as many people as they can how they travel. They complete their tally chart and bring in the results tomorrow. We will do the graphs tomorrow so do not worry about finishing them tonight.

Hi this is Kyla !
Today we ummmm read in the morning. After we read we went into the library and did a smartboard presentation on how to retell a story.
Then after that we did some math finishing patterns. We have a math test on Thursday so we are doing some reviewing in class.
After lunch we went outside and left school and went off Chine drive to look at houses and sketch them. Then we came back and we would put our stuff on our desks and Mr.Keil took us out to play some rugby.
Right now we are taking the sketches and we are making them into Rural and Urban backgrounds.
I think it was a good day because we got to go outside and got to play some rugby.

Monday October 26, 2009

This morning when we got to school we read quietly at our desks because we are losing the competition against the England team. Then we went to the smartboard and worked on some pattern problems.

After lunch we made paper mache pumpkins ! It was excellent but very messy!
Our clothes got all messy.
We finished off the day with music and gym.
It was an excellent day!

Very first blog

This is Mr. Keil writing from the grade three classroom. We have decided to create a blog so that the student's in the room can keep their families informed about what it is we do here in the classroom. Everyday, different student's will be writing about what we did in school today. Homework will also be posted on a daily basis just in case one of the kids forget his/her agenda.
Hope you enjoy our daily outlook on how our classroom is working to be the best in the world!
